Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum- Pikes Peak

The Pioneers Museum is housed in a historical building with a clock tower that gleams in the evening light. The museum’s exhibits detail the history of the town, including the founding of Colorado Springs. Other exhibits explore the region’s past as a mining town and a center for military operations. The building has been beautifully restored to provide a rich history of the area. In addition to its permanent collection, the Pioneers Museum hosts special events and lectures. You can visit the museum at 215 S Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Another popular attraction in Colorado Springs is the Cold War bunker. The Cold War bunker was built as a secret base for various military enterprises in case of nuclear conflict, but it is now maintained as a backup facility. You can drive through it and take pictures, but don’t expect to enter. You can take pictures of the tunnel, however. After you’re done visiting the Pioneers Museum, you can continue your day exploring the historic buildings of Colorado Springs.

Another great place to take the kids is Play Street Museum, which is open rain or shine. Designed for children, this museum encourages exploration and creativity. The kids will have fun climbing, coloring, and building. You’ll also find lots of local vendors selling homemade jams and crafts. A rainy day might just be the perfect excuse to visit this museum. You’ll also enjoy the Western Museum of Mining and Industry, located just outside the city.

The Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site is another great place to visit. Located just off of Gateway Road, this historical site is an excellent place to get an overview of life in the Pikes Peak region. It includes dwellings from four distinct periods. Visitors can see an American Indian area in 1775, a log cabin in the 1860s Galloway Homestead, an 1880s Chambers Home and Ranch, and a 1907 Edwardian country estate.

The United States Air Force Academy is also an excellent place to visit while in the area. This historic facility is the only one of its kind in the world. Nearby, the town is home to the largest public park in the country. Visitors can relax in the music room or take afternoon tea in the castle. You’ll be delighted with the history and architecture of this beautiful castle. The town’s rich history will be remembered forever.

In addition to the Pioneers Museum, you can try zip-lining and rock climbing. There are two zip-lines to choose from. Both are fun family activities. And for the more culturally-inclined, there’s also the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Built during the Great Depression, this building has undergone extensive restorations. Today, it is an impressive example of Spanish colonial architecture designed by a New Mexico designer.

The Broadmoor is another popular attraction in the town. Its seven waterfalls are set against the backdrop of a beautiful park. From here, you can enjoy fresh air and sunshine, and you can even see the Garden of the Gods from atop the mountain. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Colorado Springs, and it’s wheelchair-accessible, too! And when you’re tired of hiking, there’s also the Broadmoor Cog Railway that rides through the city’s hills.
